PURCHASE NECK MECHANIC

Dr. Edward D. J. Cambridge, BKin, DC, PhD, has spent his career studying how the human spine works, why it becomes painful, and how people can build the capacity to move with confidence again.

His path into spine biomechanics began while completing his Kinesiology degree at Brock University, where he became involved in biomechanics research with Dr. David Gabriel. He continued his training at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC), where he was awarded student research grants and worked within the Graduate Studies and Research Department while completing his Doctor of Chiropractic degree. During this time, he worked closely with Dr. John Triano and contributed to published research with Dr. Triano and Dr. Kim Ross.

His research career continued at the University of Waterloo, where he completed his PhD in spine biomechanics under the supervision of internationally recognized spine researcher Dr. Stuart McGill. During his graduate studies, Dr. Cambridge received further research funding and was awarded the Charles Banting and Best Graduate Student Award in recognition of his academic and research contributions. He would ultimately become Dr. McGill’s final PhD student.

That scientific foundation has shaped Dr. Cambridge’s approach to clinical practice: understand the individual, identify the mechanisms contributing to their pain, and use that information to build a practical path forward.

Together with his wife, Dr. Melanie Abbott-Cambridge, he co-founded EPIC Health & Movement in Ontario, Canada. where their team works to deliver care guided by the values represented in the EPIC name: Evidence-Informed.

Neck Mechanic brings those same principles to the reader. It combines decades of biomechanics research, clinical experience, and practical problem-solving into a guide designed to help people better understand their neck, make informed decisions about their recovery, and develop a more resilient spine.
